FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please do not worry about any of this as it is all managed for your own comfort and current fitness levels. On day 1 we will attach a heart rate monitor to you and we will do all the work from there. You will be placed in a group to ensure that you are always working comfortably within your ‘fat burning’ zone, hence giving you optimum results. Will we be in our own rooms and will they be en suite? Yes, you will have your own rooms, all of which are en suite. Should you wish a reduced rate you may opt to share a room with a friend or share a bathroom with one other room. Will there be any army survival training as such? Yes, there will be shelter building, survival techniques, fire lighting instruction and lots more to add to the ‘army’ experience. Will we need to bring a hair dryer? Yes, bring this and other personal effects such as a hot water bottle, shampoo, clothes wash and so on. Will I require clothes for the evening, for example jeans? No, you will only need the clothes that you travel in for arrival & departure. Just pack your bags with as much sports kit as possible. Obviously our role is to keep you as busy as possible but you will have time in between activities to shower, change, text and make mobile calls from your rooms. You can heave a sigh of relief as the answer is ‘yes!’ You will be allowed a small amount of dark chocolate. What are some of the key things to bring? When you book we will provide you with a full kit list of items you should bring on the course. The list varies depending on the time of year. Not in the slightest. You will be provided with an amazing diet that is rich in protein and fibre and some carbohydrates. As you are kept so busy there are lots of healthy snacks and your energy levels will actually feel boosted! We have a physical therapist on the staff who deal with every ache and pain. He also runs a yoga program that will help you wind down at the end of the day. Is it easy to reach the loo if required? Please don’t worry about this as you are not often far from the camp at any one time. The instructors are very accommodating and obviously give you total privacy if you are on a hill walk or a mountain bike. You know what we ladies are like – there always seems to be more than one of us requiring to go at any one time! What if we feel worried, anxious or need anything personal? We have a lady on site who is very friendly and honest and you are able to speak with her, in private, at any time. She will have complete understanding as to your every requirement and can provide a personal shopping service for any of your needs. Will I be embarrassed in front of any of instructors? Please be assured that the instructors have all seen many a situation, with women, and men, and show understanding at all levels and in all circumstances. At no point will you feel uncomfortable. The instructors will use the perfect tone to encourage you whilst making you feel motivated and not inclined to slacken off! What time would I need to arrive at The Camp on the first day of the course and what time would I leave at the end of the course? You will need to arrive at The Camp between 1500 and 1600 hrs on the first day of the course. If you are planning to fly to Glasgow international you should aim to be there by mid day. If you are flying to Glasgow Prestwick airport then you should aim to be there for 1300hrs. On the final day of the course you should expect to leave between 0900 and 1000 hrs. Those flying from Glasgow or Prestwick should book flights for about 1300hrs. Is the programme
also suitable for fit people who do not have much weight to lose?
Here is a quote from one of our clients, Liz Melrose, London: ‘The Camp’ is so much more than a weight loss week – it helps people have the space to make decisions, evaluate their current lives etc and the friendships that are built up are so strong. Do I need to do all activities? All activities are optional but we usually find that most clients do end up joining in with the rest of the team, regardless of their fears. Either way we will look after you. Will i get mobile phone coverage? This varies depending on your network. We have found the Vodafone works best, followed by orange. O2, 3 and T-Mobile have very poor coverage in this area. |
