New for 2009 - The Camp in Andalusia Spain

Following our first extremly successful Spanish Course The Camp has released more dates for Spain.

The original team who run the extremely successful Scottish Camp will be running 2 more courses in Spain over the coming months. If you want to banish those Christmas pounds and escape the winter weather then The Camp in Spain is a must.

Located at the end of a scenic valley in rural Andalusia The Camp in Spain is on the doorstep of one of Europe's true wilderness locations and only thirty minutes drive from the coast and one hour from Sierra Nevada.

The baronial mansion that is home to The Camp is a jewel of Andalusian architecture dating back to the 1400's. Meticulously restored into an outstanding country residence it is set in a private, quiet and peaceful setting, well away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas and nearest towns.

Facilities include a heated swimming pool, attractive dining room, drawing room, private chapel, tennis court, museum and several terraces with breathtaking views over the mountains. There is an additional courtyard cottage with accommodation for four guests.

The course is of similar structure to that of the original Scottish course but we will be utilising the Andalusian terrain, the nearby beach and the pool. Clients will experience the same results as those gained in Scotland with reference to weight loss, a reduction in body measurements and increased fitness levels. The team remains the same, including our chef.

Fit ball Ab Crunch

Karl Wall one of The Camp's trainers recomends the use of the fitball for the increased core strength. "The fitball is a great piece of kit as you can do so many exercises with it" says Karl, "one example would be the ab curl. To perform this exercise properly you will need to place your hips, back on the ball and look up as shown in photo 1. Make sure your feet are a sholder width apart and knees are bent at a 90 degree angle and that your hands are crossed across your chest. Without bouncing or jerking raise your head, upper and mid back until your are looking straight ahead, ensure that your knees remain bent at a 90 degree angle and that your feet are flat on the ground as shown in photo 2. Hold this position for a count of two and then lower your self back to your original posotion."

If you are new to this exercise Karl recomends 3 sets of 10 to start with, as you progress you can increase this to 3 set of 15 and then to 3 sets of 20
